Our Founders
Anne-Sophie, Anthony, and Olivier are three young professionals from Montreal, with multiple years of experience in finance, consulting, tech and venture capital. After having worked in Kenya and seen the challenges - and opportunities - facing entrepreneurs in growing their businesses, they decided to start Mkono. Collaborating with individuals - both from Kenya and abroad - is what allows Mkono to grow its activities while learning from our different cultural backgrounds. |
Our Team
Mkono is a volunteer-run organization. Our volunteers have experience across various fields and companies - such as Tesla, Oliver Wyman, Square, SoftBank, Unilever, and CPPIB - and lend their time and skills to grow Mkono. They are joined by a shared desire to have an impact.
Mkono Mentors
Mkono Mentors are young professionals selected for their experiences and expertise in a variety of industries, business subjects, and geographies. They are matched based on the entrepreneurs' specific needs and support them over multiple mentorship sessions. Our network of Mentors is global; they come from Canada, the United States, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Italy, Kenya and Uganda.

How does it work?
Mkono Mentors are expected to share relevant insights with entrepreneurs who have expressed a need that matches the Mkono Mentor's experience. This exchange happens over the phone in the format of mentorship sessions.
When Mkono receives a request from an entrepreneur, we identify the Mkono Mentors who are best positioned to answer the request, based on the expertise areas you've mentioned in your application form. The identified Mkono Mentors will then receive information about the company, the topics the entrepreneur wants to explore and relevant information about the local culture to best prepare. Mkono takes care of all the logistics of getting you connected with the entrepreneur.
